  • First night on Vis and we found this place quickly on Google maps. All of the tables at the front stated reserved, but as we were only 2 they squeezed us in. They also have a garden area, which also looked a delightful place to eat. They have a very small menu, but what they do, they do very well. They offer a nice range of freshly caught fish, that they bring to the table to show you and explain how they will cut it and cook it. We actually went for the fillet steak as I was craving beef and my wife had the cuttlefish risotto. Both excellent. The service deserves a special mention, as they explain everything and will adapt pretty much anything to accommodate your choices. When it came to the wine, I asked if he could recommend a local red wine. When he brought the 2 glasses, he said we can change them if they weren't to our taste! We also had a dessert, which was described as cake. It wasn't cake as we in the UK would know it, but a really chocolatey, deep filled pastry tart. It also had nuts in it...DELICIOUS!

Atmosphere was excellent...the staff were so engaging and offered brilliant advice and lots fun. You have to just go there and trust the staff to guide u through a brilliant evening of local dishes as starters and some seafood or lamb for dinner cooked on amazing open BBQ. • W Kantun was the first of a number of wonderful dinners we enjoyed during a seven-day sail in early May through the islands of Croatia—and I think my friends and I agree it was the best gustatory and hospitality experience of the whole trip. We landed in Kut on Vis and took a walk at sunset to explore the Kut neighborhood and the bay of Vis Town. On our way back to the boat, we were beckoned into the Kantun restaurant by the sight of a smoldering fireplace and the smells of grilled meat and vegetables. At the door, we were greeted warmly by the proprietor and invited in for dinner. From that moment on, our kind host guided us through a culinary exploration of traditional Croatian dishes such as beef stew with fresh gnocchi, fish risotto, grilled lamb, fries potatoes and grilled tomatoes, zucchini and eggplant, local wine; plus a delicious freshly baked chocolate cake. Every bite of our meal was delicious. The ambiance was warm and upbeat, and the service was delightful.

  • Absolutely first rate meal on the harbour front in Vis. When we reserved the table at 5pm for later in the evening we asked what fish was on offer. The waiter said they would know better when the delivery came off the boat - it was that fresh! Great view, excellent wine and fabulous food. What's not to like?
